Elaine Brennan GetGlowing Micro-Peel

What is the Elaine Brennan GetGlowing Micro-peel?

The GetGlowing Micro-Peel is a treatment in which a cream is applied to the skin to encourage the exfoliation of dead skin cells and debris while stimulating the skin’s natural renewal process. The GetGlowing Micro-peel is tailored to fit your clients’ individual skin type and long-term goals.

How does the Get Glowing Micro-Peel differ from the Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal Peel?

There is no comparison between the two peels and should not be confused with one another. The GetGlowing Micro-Peel is a mild peeling which will lightly exfoliate the skin leaving it refreshed and soft.

How many treatments do you need?

For maximum results, we recommend a series of Six GetGlowing Micro-Peel procedures in two to six week intervals, depending on the skin type.

What results will I see?

The GetGlowing Micro-peel is designed to refine skin texture damaged by environmental factors and skin conditions such as acne. The procedure assists in smoothing fine lines and evening out skin discoloration. It improves skin texture and reduces the appearance of acne scars and environmental damage to the skin.

With each additional Micro-Peel procedure, you will notice incremental improvements in the overall appearance of the skin.

PROCESS:

This peel is not like the other peel.  The MicroPeel may be done on its own, after a facial treatment or after deep pore cleansing treatment.

You will need to be in the clinic for 1 - 1.5hrs depending on the peel and prior consultation.

HOW WILL I LOOK DURING THE PEELING PROCESS?

For approximately one week following the procedure, the skin will undergo a renewal process, lightly shedding its dead outer layer. Depending on the skin, your client may or may not experience peeling. If peeling occurs, it usually begins four to five days following the treatment and lasts for approximately three days. In addition, your client may experience mild itching, dryness and redness.

Who cannot have the peel?

  • Anyone currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation or is taking an oral chemotherapy drug.

  • Anyone who is allergic to Resorcinol or Salicylates (aspirin) and Hair dye.

  • Pregnant women should not be peeled. The alteration in the hormones causes skin alterations. Avoid peeling until after the pregnancy and until no longer breastfeeding.

  • Any major medical condition that might jeopardize the healing process.

  • Anyone who is currently taking or has taken the drug “Accutane” within the last 6 months. Many physicians recommend waiting 12 months post Accutane before peeling the skin. If in doubt, permission from the client’s physician should be obtained.

  • Patients who have active cancer or are undergoing radiation or chemotherapy or has had either within the last six months.

  • Patients taking oral chemotherapy drugs.

  • Patients who have had cryosurgery or laser within the last 6 months.

  • Patients who are currently taking a course of antibiotics which make the skin ultrasensitive.

  • Anyone who has an active herpes outbreak or an infection. Herpes simplex outbreak can be caused by all chemical peelings and must be considered in all patients especially those with a history. An outbreak is heralded by unusually severe facial pain that is unexpected and can cause permanent scarring. Anyone with a history of cold sore/fever blister or herpes outbreak must take one of the prescribed medications on our “Antiviral Form”.

  • Flu or flu like symptoms or a severe cold or fever.

  • If the skin is sunburned, been exposed to a sun bed, has a rash, looks extremely irritated or has recently been peeled or abraded by another method or chemical peeling.
